FRESH GEMS: OOAK Upcycled Vintage Brooches

IMG_3127-1.JPG
Just listed a handful of one-of-a-kind, upcycled brooches at THE CLEMENTINE BOX on Etsy

I have discovered my artistic niche, and I am loving it! Every piece is lovingly handcrafted by me from 100% upcycled and vintage materials. Each component has been picked, collected, or thrifted by me and I include a description of each piece’s individual history on each brooch’s page.

There are many, MANY more on their way to the shop (I told you…I’m loving it!), but my computer has decided to take a mental health vaca which leaves me getting by with my trusty iPhone (GO APPLE GO!) So keep checking back at the shop, I’ll be adding more goodies as fast as I can!

I also except commissions (using your own favorites, complimentary sets, etc.) My pieces make awesome alternative boutonnières, corsages, medals and badges!

Thanks for sharing in my excitement as I begin this new chapter of The Clementine Box!

Dubble the Pleasure

Sorry its been so quiet round here lately. I had an epic 30th birthday trip to visit my Twin and friends back home in L.A. (*more on this later), but have been super sick since returning home. And, lemme tell ‘ya, there is no more depressing end to an awesome vaca then spending almost a week in the hospital. BOO, SIR.

However, there’s always a silver lining, and while recovering in bed I discovered my latest obsession: DUBBLE.

Dubble is a free photo-sharing iOS app that turns standard photos into random double exposures by combining two users’ shots to create a new image out of the two. The latest version of the app also offers a $0.99 in-app purchase to allow specific dubbling capabilities with favorite users, or double-exposures from your own photos.

Here’s some favorites from my Dubble account to get your creative juices flowing…but I warn you: it’s addictive!

Khánh Hmoong is a Photographer from Nha TrangVietnam.

His photography’s dreamy depth of field, imaginative double exposures, creamy hues and grain-that-only-film-can-provide all makes for an ethereal world I want to get lost in.

Seamed Dress in Color Field ($165). All items by Kate Spade Saturday, saturday.com

Ok, so I’m just gonna jump right in here with a post about my new favorite line: Kate Spade Saturday. Already a longtime fan of Kate Spade’s namesake line, Saturday is geared for a slightly younger gal (twenty-to-thirtysomethings) AND has the added bonus of being lower-priced. Say it with me: YAY! Kate Spade colors without having to live on Ramen noodles! WOOT. Plus, look at those patterns! (Succulents? SO ON POINT.) My favorite might just be that Dot-Handle Serving Dish. I can totes see myself using that as a cacti planter or jewelry dish on my vintage dresser.
